Karen Foster

Field Services Manager

Karen is ORION’s Field Services Manager, having joined the company in 2011. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Houston in 1979, graduating from Houston’s Christian Academy.

Early in her professional life, Karen owned and operated an asset recovery company, R & K Recovery. For ten years she was the collections manager and co-owner. Following this entrepreneurial effort, Karen entered the vehicle leasing industry, where she worked in a specialized sector focusing on sub-prime leasing.

In early 2010, Karen began covering Dispatch for ORION EMS on a part-time basis, until she committed to full-time employment in mid-2011. Karen has performed many job functions at ORION, starting with dispatch, being promoted to Dispatch Supervisor, then in 2013 she was promoted into management as the Field Services Manager.

As Field Services Manager, she gives 100% dedication to keeping all aspects of ORION EMS compliant — whether it’s stocking units, supply procurement, vehicle maintenance, data entry, all city and state inspections, filing permits, or keeping medic certifications up-to-date.  

Karen is incredibly resourceful and channels that talent into various crafting hobbies including cooking, apparel decorating, and home furnishings. She has also started to venture out into party planning…however, her true passion is riding Harleys with her husband and volunteering for people in need.
